Westonka Food Shelf
The mission of The Westonka Food Shelf is to reduce hunger in our local community by respectfully providing nutritionally balanced food options to those in need. The Westonka Food Shelf began serving our community in 1969. Thanks to our community’s generosity, a mission that started with helping just a few families has grown to provide healthy options to many needing assistance in Mound, Minnetrista, Navarre, Minnetonka Beach, Spring Park, St. Bonifacius, Tonka Bay, Independence and parts of Orono today.
Did you know…
We serve more than 630 local families.
We distribute more than 33,000 pounds of food most months of the year.
In 2016, we distributed just under 400,000 pounds of food.
Westonka Food Shelf has served the community since 1969!
Our patrons receive fresh fruit, vegetables, dairy and meat, in addition to canned goods, food staples and hygiene products.
We are staffed exclusively by volunteers and are always looking for more!
We operate in Grace Family Center; a facility specifically designed to serve as a food shelf and generously donated by Our Lady of the Lake Church.
Because we don’t have administrative and occupancy expenses, your donation goes exactly as to intend; to provide food for those in need.
We welcome your time, talent and treasure! Call us to see how you can help your community by supporting The Westonka Food Shelf.
